Book and Reading was Excellent

I loved this story. I truly enjoy an audible book when I have a big project like painting. That way I only have to put it down one time and can finish it a day and a half. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Great book

Would you consider the audio edition of Banished Love to be better than the print version?

I haven't the print version but imagine that the expression from the narrator adds to the experience.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Clarissa - her independence at this time in history is amazing but she is still vulnerable and wants to open herself to love.

Which character – as performed by Lauren Mccullough – was your favorite?

Clarissa's father. I loved the way her was performed.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The final scene as the book was ending. I can't say more for fear of spoiling it for others.

An enjoyable story

I enjoyed the book. My one complaint was as the reader read the me s parts the reader maid the men seem slow and mentally handicapped. The narrator might want to consider in future readings to give the male subjects a more relaxed and natural feel.

OMG, cliffhanger!

I usually look at book ratings and not reviews because so many people add spoilers. However, I will say how disappointed I was in this book. The story is good, the narration drove me crazy and yet I stuck with it for 11 hours for a damn cliffhanger.

Slower Pace for a Slower Time

I really did enjoy this book in the end and the book's hook truly has me wanting to read more but the overall story was just a tad bit drawn out for my taste. The character development was wonderful and I enjoyed how the relationships intertwined but it took too long for someone to make a move or something in the plot to happen. However, I am partial to today's "fast paced-give me now" society and not the "let's sit and sip tea and talk home for hours" society.

The narration by Lauren Mccullough was okay. I enjoyed her character voices but felt many of them blended together so that it was hard to tell who was talking. I also was disappointed by her Irish voice of Da, but I commend her attempt. I loved her narration pacing and wonderful diction.

I would recommend this book.
