Why would this narrator have been chosen for this book?

I read this book years ago and absolutely loved it! I was so excited to listen to it all of these years later on audio but was so disappointed in the narration. Don’t get me wrong, this person would have been great in other books but someone with such a strong Irish or is it Scottish accent shouldn’t be reading for a Hungarian, Romanian and Parisian with no change in their accent. I hope the next book in this series will have someone who will be able to fit the characters better.
