I’ve read a few of the Desire books but I think I liked this one the most. It had plenty of desirous moments without being down-right ridiculous. It was also about the kidnapping of Alex, who got away or was released but no one knew which since he had amnesia when he got home. And the answers were still not answered at the end of this story.

Bailey was a state investigator sent to figure out what happened to Alex. Gil was a ranch owner who wanted Bailey, but didn’t want to want her. Needless to say, they finally got together, while Bailey continued to look into the kidnapping and Gil became more and more confused about his growing feelings for Bailey.

This was a very good romance-mystery and I will definitely be reading more of Janice Maynard.

There was explicit sex in this story but it was very well written. It was romantic sex instead of erotic sex.

As to the narration: Yeah, I really didn’t like Jack Garrett all that much. I don’t know how he got so many 4 and 5 star reviews. He doesn’t even try to feminize his voice but he does read with emotions. Actually, I do prefer male narrators to MOST female readers. I can handle a woman with a little deeper voice but I can’t stand all the heroes and the males in the books sounding just like a woman. Although Mr. Garrett does have a nice reading voice he needs to practice his women’s voices.

Great book but barely okay narration..

The characters seemed real and heartfelt. There were emotions, suspense, humor from child, and a good, if hesitant romance.

Good characterizations, mystery and romance!

Jack Garrett did a great job, he just did't have much to work with. shallow characters. limited story line. I did suffer till ths end, but nothing about this made me want to read another by Janice Maynard.

Not much of a story.
