For more than three decades, Ellen Datlow has been at the center of horror. Bringing you the most frightening and terrifying stories, Datlow always has her finger on the pulse of what horror readers crave. Now, with the tenth volume of the series, Datlow is back again to bring you the stories that will keep you up at night

Included in the pages of The Best Horror of the Year have been such illustrious writers as Neil Gaiman, Kim Stanley Robinson, Stephen King, Linda Nagata, Laird Barron, and many others.

With each passing year, science, technology, and the march of time shine light into the craggy corners of the universe, making the fears of an earlier generation seem quaint. But this light creates its own shadows. The Best Horror of the Year chronicles these shifting shadows. It is a catalog of terror, fear, and unpleasantness as articulated by today's most challenging and exciting writers.

Another strong edition, edited wonderfully as per usual by Ellen Datlow. I am slowly making my way through all editions and encourage you to do the same.

Another win for this anthology series…

I found more that I didn't really care for than those that interested me. None were scary. Several were unique. I did like that the stories were longer in length, although it made for a LONG audiobook. None stand out as really memorable or great.

Interesting and long mix of stories

Beautiful and creepy stories. The final story was my favorite, although I also def enjoyed the short piece by Machado.

John Langan’s “Lost In The Dark” is awesome. Brave Ellen Datlow for having this story conclude the collection!

John Langan’s story is worth the credit.

Just like most collections of short stories, some are very good, and some are very not.
If you dont mind some inconsistency in quality and are able to make your way past the weak opening, this book has some gems that are definitely worth listening to.

A mixed bag of spooky stories
