This is a great way to learn about indigenous spirituality. Particularly of the Amazonian rainforest. I was fortunate enough to do a retreat with the author. Without question he has absorbed the heart of the teachings and is passing it on with full respect and love to the rest of us. I enjoyed listening to Don Sinchi instructing the young aspirant on the old ways and particularly noted the universality in sharing the wisdom that has been gained over generations from immersement in the natural world. These elders have much to teach us!

"Beyond Ayahuasca" is an amazing work by the author, Roman Hanis, presenting a truly holistic approach to working with plant medicines in an easily digestible way. It's not just about the plant medicines themselves, nor about magic, tricks, or quick techniques. Instead, it focuses on the integrity of the healer, their deep understanding of each "patient's" internal world, as well as humanity as a whole. It also highlights the profound knowledge of different tools available for various stages of the healing process.

Roman vividly shows that a healer's work on themselves is basing on a deep understanding of their own personality and traits, their honesty, and faithfulness and as a result it can open gates to personal healing and a heroic journey. This journey allows them to become a true space holder, a "medicine man" able to "see through appearances."
