Intense

This 2nd book is much more intense and all consuming as the first one. Mason was not liked by many in the first book even Nikolai, his father, treated him poorly. But we learn more about him and his gruff exterior. Vasil, his best friend, is the only one who can tame him. If that’s even possible. Through all the trials this book throws at them they do manage to find their HEA. I listened to this and Kirt Graves knocks it our of the park! I love his voice!!!

Could have been better.

I love the narrator. The story would have been much better without all the focus on drinking and the mutation sex.

I love this series.

OMG. This series is phenomenal!!! The characters are so well developed and even when they are unlikable they are loveable, well, the ones that we're supposed to love are anyway. The grief, suffering, and guilt are believable as are the dialogue and behaviours. The storyline and themes are also well developed and fascinating as is the interaction between characters, in particular, Nicolae and Mason. I loved reading about the characters from book 1 and how they have changed and grown and the impact they have on the lives around them.

I listened to this book which was narrated by Kirt Graves. He does a phenomenal job with the emotions and accents needed in this story. I'm sure it was a bit of a challenge switching so seamlessly from a Russian to a Southern accent as needed. If you even remotely like listening to books then this is definitely the way to go.

Please have Kirt narrate the next one soon. I check Audible almost every day. These books are so great, and i want the third one asap 😃. I can buy it on Kindle, but it is better when he narrates it.

Obsessed!!

I always assume I won’t like a sequel as much as I did the original, but WOW! This definitely proved me wrong. Kirt Graves is a phenomenal voice actor- I truly cannot get enough of him- and Joel Abernathy is one hell of an author.
The story was filled with so much longing and pain and healing, and enough spice to relieve you of all of it.
Highly recommend this one.
