San Francisco homicide detective Jane Candiotti never shies away from the risks of the job. Now she’s finally ready to gamble on her personal life, inviting her partner and boyfriend Kenny Marks to move in. But just when domestic bliss settles in, Skip Lacey, an ex-cop turned junkie, is found brutally murdered, his eyes gouged out with a spoon. He is the first—but he won’t be the last.

Because after fifteen years on the inside maximum security, a bloodthirsty ex-con is finally free to exact his revenge on the city’s peacekeepers who’d kept him behind bars. One by one the mutilated bodies pile up, while the SFPD scrambles to unmask the killer who is decimating their ranks. For Jane and Kenny, the only thing worse than watching their friends and colleagues fall is the knowledge that, unless they can stop this unrelenting madman in time, any day could be their last.

Very intriguing with many unexpected lot twists. I am looking forward to the next audio book.

This narrator is finally growing on me. Good character differentiation and gender pitch.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

No. I would recommend they read the book instead.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Blindsided?

The scene with the Lt's son being killed and them huddled around the radio was very well written,

Would you be willing to try another one of Angela Dawe’s performances?

NO! The cadence was awful! She puts the inflection at the end of every, single sentence or prior to every comma. It was nothing short of distracting. She does voices rather well and manages to break away from this when she is "in character", she just can't seem to narrate. It is a shame, because the story was actually quite good.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No.

Any additional comments?

I have listened to literally hundreds of audiobooks, and this is the first time I ever felt compelled to write a negative review.

Great Story, Horrible Narration

I didn't care that much for this story. I have a difficult time listening to this narrator. I mean with all her readings. She is the same with everything she reads. It's hard to get lost in the story with her pauses ending sentences almost like a question and sooo bad on male voices.

Clyde Phillips seems to have a talent for ending his novels with a surprise twist.

Angela Dawe is beyond doubt the worst narrator I've listened to. It's sad because the Clyde Phillips novels are quite good.

Another surprise twist at the end!

The narrator is terrible. The cadence is off, the inflection is wrong and she makes the main male character sound like a moron. Disappointing especially since there are three books with this narrator.

Awful narration
