In 1957, the US government abruptly ended a project designed to supplement the nation's food supply. They closed their research facility, reassigned the personnel, and ordered the test subjects euthanized. Sadly, not all their secrets died that day.

Twenty years later, a severe drought has devastated nearby Cooper's Bluff, leaving the surrounding marshlands barren and their monstrous inhabitants ravenously hungry. Now the residents of this sleepy, rural town are about to discover the offspring of these failed experiments have not only survived, but they're larger and more horrifying than anyone could've ever guessed possible.

As an army of mutant hogs descends upon the unsuspecting townsfolk, a local farmer, his wife, and a failed pimp will find themselves the only ones standing in their way. If they can't stop the bloodthirsty beasts, they'll soon learn that not only does this bacon bite back but all of humanity is now on the menu.

Another great story

4.5. It was funny and exciting all at the same time. Another great story by Gualtieri. Performance great as always.

Refreshingly good.

This is the type of story that I couldn't put down. Not the typical junk I've gotten bored with. Nobody is safe.

10/10 even extra crispy

as a general creature feature, it's a very good book with fun characters and stunning descriptions. 10/10

Excellent Story

The Crypto Hunter series is a large departure from The Bill series, but just as entertaining. Great story and characters.

Im having a hard time finishing this one

I am a huge Rick fan. Love all his work so it hurts a bit to give 4 stars but I’m just not getting into this one. All of his other books have drawn me in very early and I usually end up working overtime just to keep listening. Usually I can’t put them down. So idk why this one isn’t landing for me. The narrator is great and there is nothing specific I can point to and say this is why. Maybe it’s just me and I’ll come back and love it. That’s happened before with Drew Hayes. One of my favorite authors. I got his book and returned it only to get it again a year later and it is now one of my favorites. So maybe that will happen here
