It's not that you can't find your way through any of the Mercy Thompson books without reading the priors, it's that you feel that you MUST read more because they are so well written and fascinating.

Excellence is increasing exponentially

This series gets better with each book. Doesn't waste a lot of time going over previous books. The characters are building depth. Lorelei is gray fun and matches the story nicely

Loved it. It added new abilities of a vampire and it gave you more insight on unwanted deception.
