Born an Outcast, Talyn Batur has spent the whole of his life fighting against the prejudice of his people. An Andarion without a father is not something anyone wants to be.
But when his companion's brother draws him into a plot against the Andarion crown, he finds himself torn between the loyalty to their planetary government that his mother has beaten into him and his own beliefs of justice and right.
Now, he must decide for himself to remain a pawn of their government or to defy everything and everyone he's ever known to stand up to tyranny. It's a gamble that will either save his life or end it. And when old enemies align with new ones, it's more than just his own life at risk. And more than just his homeworld that will end should he fail.

Kenyon had done it again. I do not care what anyone has to say. This one is to be READ. It allows you to see the strife on the planet before it all began. It is the segway into Fain's story. This is much needed back info. I am heading to read the next book of the series and I do hope that I am not wrong. Tayln's story was needed to understand Fain's.

I found Tayln to be strong, intense, powerful, honorable, reliable, and so much more. I am sitting her wanting to read it again. To be so young. He knows who he is and what he is about. He has the odds stacked against him and lets none of it stop him. He should be every mother's dream for her daughter, but there is a catch. On his world he is more of an outcast than his birth predicates.

It is absolutely endearing to watch every challenge that he goes against and still he rises. It may take some time but he rises. Then there is Felicia. You must read it to understand.

I found that Kenyon has made this a standout among 'The League' series. I most certainly will seek out more.

Fred Berman has narrated many of Sherrilyn's books and he has a voice that makes for easy listening. The male voices, diction, accents, appeal and sexual aggression, alphaism comes through clear. No matter the speed of the audio, good sound quality is there.

Sexy male voice, accents, appeal, sensuality . . .

There were a few contradictions in this story that didn't match the other stories, especially regarding Julian. I was a bit disappointed. I still loved the book though.

This story was slightly confusing because it is happening pre-book one of the League Series. Also Talyn is suppose to be an exact replica of his father and Dancer however, no one seems to 'see' the resemblance unless it's pointed out! Of course it could be that adage, 'hiding in plain site'! Although it became wearing that every time things seem to be finally going good for Talyn and then he gets slammed down. But I still loved it anyway! There are new introduction of characters and startling new things! You gotta read!

I really enjoy these characters!
