Nobody expected them to fall in love. When Aria was given to Luca in marriage, people were sure he’d break her. Aria feared the worst from a man like him. A man without mercy.

But somehow, she gained his love.

Love - a weakness a capo like Luca shouldn’t risk.

When Aria betrays Luca by going behind his back for her family, she realizes too late that she might have lost what she’s fought so hard to get in the first place: Luca’s trust.

The trust of a man who never allowed himself to trust someone unconditionally before.

Can their love survive in a world of betrayal and death?

Aria using Luca love & trust, it sickens me and most his problems is her really her fault.

Luca is too trusting when it comes too his wife.

I like how this booked tied together the previous ones. And I think it's important that we got Aria's and Luca's POVs on the key plot points. And it didn't feel like we were beating a dead horse, by going back to the beginning. Ugh the honeymoon and birthday celebrations were just amazing, fangirling! This book also shows how much of an effect Aria has on Luca. But also how much she need to grow to trust her husband more. You see if with her sisters as well. Acting without thinking about the consequences, but then freaking out when the consequences ultimately happen. In this case Fabiano's fate, it's like they forgot the type of person their father was.But the bottom line is communication is key in this relationship and Aria really needs to get a clue when it comes to acting on her own, and Luca immediately going to a strip club to after their argument. Use your words people 😭.

Dante is a cheeky somebody, but I think his role in this story was needed, and a wake up call to Aria of how much power she has over Luca's emotions and the affects they have on him. The biggest issues addressed in this book was Luca's cheating. I'm glad we got what Aria was thinking and how it effected her. Because in Bound by Honor, it seemed like she just brushed it off. But in this book it was addressed and resolved. Major character development on Luca and Aria's part. We dived deeper into their relationship and caught a glimpse of the cracks. This book got dark fast, so many twist and turns.

This book felt somewhat like a retelling of the other books. It was nice to see how Luca’s love and possessiveness developed for Aria. He knows she is his weakness – a weakness he cannot afford to have in his line of work. Aria betrayed him several times by going behind his back to help her family. The last time when she flew to Chicago, he told her they were done and he left her for many weeks. While in Chicago, Dante, the head of the Chicago Outfit, had pictures taken of her with him and Luca snapped. Aria was innocent but picture angles can tell another story. While at an event where he needed to take Aria, Grace (his former mistress) was there and approached him. He ends up going into her bedroom with her. Luckily he loves Aria more than he realized. This was a really good book and it was nice to catch up with some of the others like Mateo, Romero, and others. I thought Sebastian York was the only Luca but Troy Duran proved that wrong. He was an awesome Luca! Wen Ross was great as Mateo and Savannah Peachwood was great as Aria. She had that young, naive quality to her voice.

Aria and Luca

I loved this book as I do all of them however Aria works on my nerves. She is forever doing something reckless. I really can’t take it lol. Most of this book fills in the blanks of Aria and Luca‘s roles in the other characters stories but there is great new content towards end. Through and through - I do still absolutely love Luca and Matao.

Side note: This book has me excited to read/listen to more about Fabi.

Another great read
