The mc is very annoying. He gets very upset over anything that does not go his way and to easy to offend. He has had his powers for a long time and acts life gods gift to the world but really has no idea how to use his powers. Every fight he is the weak link that also wont kill. Not to mention most of the dialogue is just the MC talking to himself. Like I said before when it comes to DKs books its a 50/50 chance its going to suck. The 2 spicy bits were pretty good.

Not that good

The mc is smart one moment, then a complete idiot the next. I'm conflicted. The dude abuses his power, yet cry on how much he hates other supers doing the same. It makes no sense, I guess it's for "plot" purposes. It feels like the "plot" is forced because of his superpower. I just think it was a missed opportunity to actually create a decent foundation for a proper plot. Dude is a f-boy too... hence the superpower abuse. But, I'll try to completely finish the book...

this story is weird

As is tradition, Dante King takes a compelling premise and fumbles it. It starts off well enough, with an interesting bit of world building and the MC seemingly have at least a few brain cells and some capacity for preparedness. I was actually relatively hooked early on, which is unusual for DK books. Unfortunately, it doesn't take long for the MC's brain to turn off and he becomes another cro-magnon clown with no emotional control and no capacity for critical thought (and constantly screwing himself with his own 'conscience'). Most of the antagonists are also brain-dead so he gets away with everything anyway.

Also, where'd the cheerleader go? She just noped right out of the story and apparently nobody cares?

This is hard-carried by the narrators who both did excellent jobs.

Typical DK

I rarely either leave a negative review or DNF a boob, sadly I must do both with this one... there is just so many things that make no since and are obviously being forced for plot reasons that themselves make no since. I'm starting to think this is AI because I can't imagine an human writer doing some of this stuff.

also the MC is a terrible humanbeing pretending to be the moral one. he used and abused his power to take advantage of countless women and called it "playing the field" he is breaking people's minds. and his worst sin of all is not making any of it interesting. if he was a dirt bag but at least interesting I'd be down for the ride, I like to see crappy people get him led and learn as much as the next guy but he has no substance.

the writing is very shallow, and part of why I think it might have heavy AI use. it states things in very simple ways, and forgets what it said only to contradict itself a few sentences later.

all in all the only good part is the voice acting, the actors did the best with what they could have. but I have to call it quits, I gave the book 4 hours if listening to hook me and it just couldn't get any interest.

is this AI?
