A Persephone & Hades Retelling with a “Why Choose” Twist

The God of Death says I’m his long-lost bride.
His soul mate.
An Omega who betrayed him two thousand years ago.

He believes my memories are the key to our survival.
Only, they’re memories I no longer possess. Because I’m not who he thinks I am.

I’m Serapina, not Persephone.
A human, not an Omega.
And that knot he keeps talking about? Yeah, that’s not coming anywhere near me.

Except Hades isn’t the only one threatening to claim me with his knot. Morpheus, the God of Dreams, says I belong to him, too.

And don’t even get me started on Maliki, the sexy fae guard in charge of my captivity. That deadly fae has a body crafted in sin and a smirk that makes me question my sanity.

All three men want access to my nest. To my heart. To my mind.

It’s that last part that scares me most. Because if I truly am the Omega that betrayed my own kind, then I’m not worthy of being a Goddess. Let alone their Goddess. And what happens then?

Author’s Note: Bride of Death is book one of the Netherworld Fae trilogy and ends on a cliffhanger.

This might just be my favorite twist on Hades & Persephone, it was a unique story with an intriguing twist.
I love Serapina, she is a strong and independent woman, she is trying her hardest to find her own place in this new world, but she is also so kind and caring. She is sassy and sweet.
I adore Malachi, he is such a broody, swoony non-fae, he is protective, charismatic, and loyal.
Morpheus is the sneak attack hottie, he likes to stir the pot a bit, but also wants to cherish & adore Sera.
Hades, he is our dark broody god of death, who loves Persephone but finds himself in an impossible position.
I love all of the banter, the lore, the twists on this story, as well as all of the intense chemistry.
I adore Pip, and hope we get to see more of him.
I am excited to see how this adventure unfolds for everyone.

“There is no sun, only moons...”
(I love this world so much—I think I’d like to live in it.)

TLDR:

Deliciously dystopian, full with mysteries, and a healthy blend of mythology—but not the same take on things that everyone else seems to spin. Gods and monsters everywhere.

Oh and and getting strange looks from my husband who threw up words like,’deranged’ as I CACKLED aloud at times made it all the more hilarious.

Also:
Pip.
IYK, YK. I looooove him so much!
My new favorite literary character, I think. Definitely my new favorite sidekick.

POV:
This ah0le keeps claiming that you’re ‘his’ and just telling you you’re going to marry him … but also that you’ve deeply wronged him and an entire population … but you’ve no memory of any such thing. As far as you know you’re ‘just a human’ and … WHAT?! The. Actual—

“By the time I’m through, your mate status will be known by everyone in all the realms,” I promise my soulmate. “Because I’m going to mark you as my fvk|ng bride.”

“You’re a human that possesses the soul of a Goddess,” he corrects me. “Which is both exhilarating and frustrating. You’re powerful, yet ridiculously breakable.”

Basically, once I downloaded my copy of this book, the rest of my life, work, EVERYTHING was put on hold. I didn’t intend to, at all but I opened the book, and the next thing I knew I’d devoured 70% of it and 4 hours had disappeared and … well I figured I might as well just finish it at that point. 😉

This is some of my most favorite world-building, and Lexi, PLEASE tell me we’re getting Mythos Fae books too because OMG I NEEEEEEED them.

Here is my incomplete list of themes / tropes / maybe prospective trygg3rs for some?
You do you …

🖤 Hades & Persephone, obvi.
💀 A / B/ O dynamic.
🌹 Very slow-burn romance.
🖤 Reincarnation.
💀 Epic world-building.
🌹 Tied to H3ll Fae world.
🖤 Mentions / light cross with Midnight Fae world.
💀 Crossover with Monster’s Night world.
🌹 Forbidden / best friend’s mate.
🖤 Protector romance.
💀 Grand gestures.
🌹 M4t3 circle with multiple 4lph4s.
🖤 Assassin.
💀 Gods.
🌹 Greek mythology.
🖤 Magic, all different types.
💀 Monsters everywhere.
🌹 Ghosts.
🖤 Danger.
💀 Fated mates.

That ending—if you’re a seasoned Foss reader, you know what to expect, but this one was intense even for her. Epic, truly.

Also?
The world-building!! Clearly, every little detail was carefully thought out, right down to drinks and shots. Do I even want to know what’s in a squid shot? Spider ale? And Hades casually sipping on bl00d ale … epic. Absolutely cannot wait for more!!

Overall:
5 stars, obviously. This gripped me like so few things can.
