The fifth novel in Julia Quinn's globally beloved and best-selling Bridgerton Family series, set in Regency times and now a series created by Shondaland for Netflix. This is Eloise's story.

My dear Miss Bridgerton,

We have been corresponding now for quite some time, and although we have never formally met, I feel as if I know you. I am writing to invite you to visit me here at Romney Hall. It is my hope that after a suitable period of time, we might decide that we will suit, and you will consent to be my wife.

Did he think she was mad? Eloise Bridgerton couldn't marry a man she had never met! But before she knew it, she was in a hired carriage in the middle of the night, on her way to meet the man she hoped might be her perfect match.

Except...he wasn't. Her perfect husband wouldn't be so moody and ill-mannered, and while Phillip was certainly handsome, he was rough and rugged, and totally unlike the London gentlemen vying for her hand. But when he smiled...and when he kissed her...the rest of the world simply fell away. Could this imperfect man be perfect for her?

My favourite characters in this one were Amanda and Oliver.

I did enjoy that it was a fresh story that Netflix has not yet influenced in my mind. I think I enjoyed it all the more due to not having any preconceived notions.

Loved it

a bit bland for Eloise, regardless the storyline is still good, depicted her adventurous side and is quite enjoyable. missing the 2nd epilogue tho!

Truthfully after Penelope's story I had given the Bridgerton story a little bit of a break. It was starting to get not as exciting to read. But maybe that is just historical romance for you. However after my break and coming back to Eloise's story I was really excited to see how her love story would go due to who she was and turning down so many proposals in the last book. I think the way her story went suited her so well. I love who she is and how her mind works. It was a great step back into the Bridgerton world.

This is totally Eloise.

As mentioned The epilogue is missing on this one. Narrator and the book itself was as always very good
