Duty calls for the youngest O’Brien son.

In a flash of heat, smoke, and flame comes a time of great suffering. Seany O’Brien has kept with family tradition, choosing a career as a first responder. But his choice brings risk and heartbreaking sacrifice.

Lost in a fog of pain and grief, not even the fierce love of the O’Brien clan can pull him from his unending nightmare. But sometimes salvation arrives on two legs, and other times on four.

Maureen Rogers has lived a lifetime in the six years since she said goodbye to a dashing, young Irishman. They were too young, too passionate, and separated by too many miles. But she is a girl no longer. No man has ever captured her heart like the beautiful Irish boy of her girlhood. When Seany O’Brien is wounded in the line of duty, Moe answers a desperate call, bringing her to the bedside of her first love, and unexpectedly to the vast and breathtaking hills of Connemara.

I’ve listened to the entire series. The stories are good, but Justine Erye brings them to life beautifully. She truly is phenomenal. The next one is just as great.

Good story, fabulous narrator!

I have listened to all the tales and novellas. I had stepped out of my usual genre with book one and kept listening. Justine Eyre is probably the reason. The series is so well read. Quite often very humorous and I had some really good laughs. Nice balance of drama, mystery, politics, religion , like real life. I think the sons were all taught there bedroom skills by dad because they have the same routine, in the same order, with the same dialogue, cut and paste in each tale :). The Marine Corp "oorah" is little unrealistic (as a military brat, married military, and command ombudsman for 5 years, I say its simply not that perfect) but it would be nice if it was. Those are just personal irks. Everything else was pleasure, and if Brigid has a come to Jesus in one of the next few tales there will be real magic.
Stacey Reynolds is quite cleaver weaving the different threads of life evenly together, and I like the way she uses music to fortify the story. I often stop and listen to the songs that are being sung in the story line to enhance the moment.

Looking forward to the next tale.

These are great stories. I love that Stacey keeps them fresh and new. Justine is so excellent with her narration that I have become a snob to lesser talent.

Love these books
