I owe Crow Barsetti nothing—but I love his daughter like mad.

I tell Crow everything I know about the hit on his son. It’s a brief conversation, and I don’t waste my time trying to convince him of the facts. Whether he believes me or not, I couldn’t care less. I fulfilled my obligation to Vanessa.

But once I realize Crow and Cane are outnumbered and they’re all going to die in this hit, I have to get involved. I have to risk my life because I know how devastated my baby will be if she loses the men she loves most.

It’s not my fight, but I grab my guns and men like it is. Vanessa and I have been apart for months and I know she’s already seeing someone, but I love her just as much today as I did the first time I said those three little words. Her father was wrong to deny me.

And now I’m going to prove just how wrong.

Buttons and Lies is the tenth installment of the Beyond Buttons Series, a bestselling alpha male, dark mafia romance.

The series gets better with every book. I can't wait to listen to the next one

love this book

The first 12 chapters of this book are found verbatim in the previous book. Until we get to Carter & Mia’s chapters, there is absolutely no new information or POVs. This isn’t a standalone novel, it’s a sequel series where the character development has been critical until the past 3 books or so. I can empathize with Penelope as this storyline has so much backstory, detail and many characters to keep straight but this felt cheapened. I had to go back to the book details multiple times to reassure myself it was, in fact, the book released yesterday.

I will see this series through but I hope the next book doesn’t once again start with half this book in order to eat up word count.

Frustratingly Redundant
