Virtual voice is computer-generated narration for audiobooks.

She was never meant to step inside his cage. Now she can’t find the way out.

Faith Lewis’s life was simple—an art teacher in Atlanta, more comfortable with paint-stained hands than the shadows men like her father owed. But when his debts to the wrong people came due, Faith became the collateral.

Naples wasn’t a choice. It was a sentence. And waiting at the end of that flight was Lorenzo Bellucci—the man whispered about as Il Don. Cold. Calculating. Beautiful in a way that cuts.

He should have discarded her. She should have hated him. Instead, their worlds collided with heat sharp enough to wound, and Faith discovered that even cages can tempt.

But love with a man like Lorenzo Bellucci isn’t tender. It’s possession. It’s survival. It’s surrendering her name, her body, and maybe her life to the most dangerous man in Naples.

Caged by the Don is Book One of the Bellucci Mafia Trilogy by Jade West—a dark, explosive BWWM romance where passion is a weapon, loyalty is tested, and once you enter his world, there is no escape.

I like the story, as for the reading, it’s virtual voice which is fine I have learned to deal with it. The part that’s off to me is the vocabulary and the way it’s written. If this was a different time I could understand, but these people have cellphones no one in modern times have every day conversations like this. Overall if it were re written but just talked “normal” I would definitely like it more.

It’s written like a different period piece,

I started listening and made it to chapter three before realizing this one just isn’t for me. The idea behind the story itself has potential, but it feels more like a stream of scattered thoughts rather than a solid, flowing narrative. It was a bit hard to follow, and I found myself getting lost rather than drawn in. I was very confused.

What really threw me off was the narration. It doesn’t sound like it’s read by a real person but more like a robotic text-to-speech voice. Which in retrospect I guess it did say "Narrated by: Virtual Voice". Now i know what that means.

It made it really hard to connect with the story or the emotions behind it. I tried to push through and focus on the plot, but the delivery completely took me out of the experience. Maybe the written version reads better, but as an audiobook, it felt flat and mechanical.

Overall, I like the idea of what this story could have been but i would not buy this again, This is my experience though, maybe you will like it better than I did.
