A DARK RIDE BUT GREAT STORY

First off, this book is not for everyone. And while this book does have spice and SOME romantic elements, I would not call this a romance. I would definitely put this more into a psychological thriller/horror category. That being said, wow. I am speechless.
Call Me Freak starts off like a lot of dark romances and we begin with a man, who is clearly obsessed with his first love, the girl who he hasn’t seen in seven years due to his stay in a mental institution. But once Dmitry is released he begins to put his plan in motion to find and reclaim Natalia his Little Sparrow. This story just gets darker and darker from there. The slow reveal of how Dmitry and Natalia met, their common traumas and difficult pasts is truly jaw dropping and at times so hard to read. This rabbit hole just gets deeper and deeper and the cliffhanger at the end will have you staring at the wall.
The duet narration of this book by Joe Arden and Lucy Rivers is fantastic. Their performances are insane. Joe Arden as Dmitry is eerie, funny, heartbreaking and just incomparable. The parts where Lucy Rivers comes in as the voice of Natalia are beautifully soft and set a perfect tone for her character. Again, this book is chock full of triggers and uncomfortable to listen to at times, but I was enthralled the whole time.

Joe is amazing!!!

Joe became Demitri! Brought him to life. I need more! Can't wait for Call Me Freak Again. But I will say Demitris obsession wow disgusting moments that I wasn't sure if I was gonna make it through. But I did couldn't stop Joe and so glad I kept going!

I absolutely loved the narrotion of the book and it made it so realistic.

Wow!!! Joe and Lucy KILLED IT!!

Wow, I really wasn't ready!! I was caught almost immediately! Joe is probably my all time favorite! He absolutely killed this!!! I was in AWE!!!
This is a DEEP BOOK!!! You FEEL it, and I love it!!! I would say it needed to be longer, but I'm not sure My mental and emotional state could have handled any more!!!
I will not ruin anything, but just wow!!

Narrators

I had a hard time with the accents. The female narrator sometimes spoke so quietly couldn’t make out what she was saying. Besides that, I enjoyed this narration.
