YES!

Despite a slow start and a woeful lack of Bas early on, Carry On blew me away. I understood that Rowell had to build the world and the lore, so I chalked my impatience up to a strong desire to get to the Simon/Bas drama. And then it started up and I was beyond hooked. I love this book. even though I just finished, I will start it again immediately.

I would read 8 books on Simon Snow... as long as Bas was there to keep things interesting.

The reader sounded too old for these characters, but I fixed that by speeding it up by 1.25 speed.

Rainbow Rowell !!!

I am decades beyond being a teenager but I always enjoy Rainbow Rowell. She knows how to write a YA book that anyone of any age can enjoy.

was reading harry potter over christmas and got awfully sad at the lack of happy queer teenagers. this is awfully therapeutic, this is, conciddering my life as a (mostly) happy, queer.. not teenager but close enough i guess. i'm an adult now. (i'm the same age as simon, isn't that fun).

i love carry on. it's one of my favourite books. i've always wanted to get my hands on the audio book so i can read it even when my hands and eyes are occupied.

it's just so sweet. it tackles sexuality and trauma and all through the lens of a chosen one narrative set in a fantasy world. how can i not love that.

Favorite series from my Favorite Author

I can’t say enough about Carry On, I’ve loved this book for years, and even now it breaks my heart in such a perfect way. Rainbow Rowell’s style is so incredibly touching, and funny, and romantic; you don’t wanna stop reading/listening. The performance is excellent too, Euan Morton gives every character a dynamic voice and adds incredible life to the narration. Absolutely amazing.

big turnaround!

I did not expect to love this book as much as I do!

I took a chance on it because I was looking for gay stuff that had actual plot and maybe some magic. I had almost given up after the first few chapters thinking that the whole book was going to be the main character talking morosely to himself.. but hang in there good reader! Bas will show up to save the day! he breathes sudden life into the story and his interaction with everyone else start a Cascade effect of excitement an unexpected turns! highly enjoyable characters a remarkably enjoyable magic system, and plenty of flirting ( of a sort) along the way. hang in there it's good stuff!
