The author seems to want to overwhelm us with his use of a thesaurus. Way too many 4-bit words not used in everyday language. The addition of the “footnotes” and quizzes were pointless and interruptive. As far as the story goes, I thought it was the weakest of the series so far as well as inconsistent with what we have been told about Castle Perilous in past books. Up until now I’ve given 5 stars across the boards.
