Ren is in desperate need of a rebound fling. Lucky for him, the smoking hot contractor he hired has just the tool for the job.

The last thing I want is another relationship or another broken heart.

All I need are my bees and the occasional hookup to scratch the itch.

Okay, maybe meeting up with my hot contractor weekly is a little more than occasional. And maybe the way I’m starting to feel about the guy I’ve been anonymously chatting with online should concern me.

But CaulkyAF doesn’t want to meet, and Cole doesn’t want anything serious, so what’s the worst that could happen?

Caulky is book one in the Four Bears Construction Series and can be listened to as a stand-alone. This is a funny, steamy MM story guaranteed to make you laugh and swoon. Absolutely no cheating and no love triangle. This series does not contain shifters, it's the other kind of bears.

I liked this book and thought it was funny that Cole kept calling Renner Honey B, cause thats my dogs name. lol. the cast of this book is well rounded and gives you an idea of what to expect from the other books. As I'm new to this author all I can say is this. I have bought all 4 books and im now on to book 2. so enjoy.

This is one of the most beautiful books I’ve ever hear and narrated by my favorite narrator! That is how I chose this book and was not disappointed.

Beautiful

This was a pleasure to read, but the audio has brought so much more to the table. Tim Paige and Liam DiCosimo brought Neuhold's characters to life. The story flowed nicely between the two narrators, and I was able to distinguish the various characters in the book. Neuhold always does an amazing job with the steamy scenes throughout the book, and Paige and DiCosimo did a great job performing the sexy times Ren and Cole get up to.
If you are in the mood for a steamy, romantic read with low angsty, you can't go wrong with this one.

Hot and enjoyable

Caulky is the first installment in the Four Bears Construction series, which follows two brothers and their two best friends, all co-owners of the titular construction company, as they each try to find their HEA. Cole, aka “CaulkyAF”, is the subject of this book and it tracks his relationship with Ren, a serial monogamist who meets Cole as a rebound, literally and figuratively. Cole and Ren meet in person and through a M/M hookup app as their alter egos CaulkyAF and Rebound, but in tried and true fashion, they don’t make the connection between real and virtual. IRL, Cole and Ren are all hookup all the time, leave the conversation at the door, thank-you-very-much. CaulkyAF and Rebound are all talk, sharing deep thoughts and secrets, and soul bonding. The relationships take two parallel paths, each falling for the other in each of their respective personas, and trying and failing to choose between the two. The irony is not lost on the reader that the real connection and communication between Cole and Ren is made through the vehicle for purely physical connection - the hookup app - which metaphorically shows how each of them has been hiding (or suppressing) a critical part of themselves IRL, and they can only let themselves really been seen when they are anonymous. It takes some time and trust to bridge that gap - and THAT is what this story is about (along with a lot of hot, steamy sex).

The narration is perfectly competent, good diction, appropriate intonation - but it doesn't add much to the enjoyment of the story or the appreciation of the characters being voiced. One narrator had a stronger, richer vocal tone than the other and a greater range of voices. The biggest problem with the audio on this book is an issue not unique to these narrators: the dual narrator dichotomy. With two narrators voicing two characters, it would make sense that one voices one character throughout and the other voices the other character throughout. Well that just isn’t how it’s generally done, likely due to the logistics of doing the recordings. So instead you have two characters with two voices each because each narrator gives the character his own voicing. The dissonance created by two voices for one character throughout the book is unsettling particularly when the voices are dissimilar, as was the case here. Definitely read the book and if you enjoy audiobooks, this one is fine, but it is far from essential to fully enjoy the story.

Hot sex wrapped up in a "sweet" story
