The story
With her mighty wings spread wide and Ardent Blade aflame, Saint Celestine is the living embodiment of the God-Emperor’s wrath. Her halo blazes like a star upon the smog-wreathed, blood-soaked battlefields of the 41st Millennium; its holy light leading the faithful to victory time and time again. As heretics and daemons tear at her flesh, she calls down fires of retribution from on high to smite the wicked and unrighteous.

If she is to fall in battle, none should mourn as she is Celestine, the Living Saint, and death is her duty. Though it comes at a great cost. For each time she is slain, Saint Celestine finds herself trapped in a terrible realm of suffering and torment. There her faith in the God-Emperor will be put to the test so she may prove herself worthy of life once more.

It was moving.

It was a great work of literature. this was the first time a book brought me to tears, I do not know what it was but I became aware that tears started flowing down my face, after an hour listening to the audio book. Great writing and a stunning performance by Emma Gregory.

A detailed and passionate look into the mystery of the living saint. Well written and wonderfully narrated, this tale will stir something within you. The Emperor Protects.

I really enjoyed the imagery and immersion into the 40K universe at this provides. has a rich assortment of language.

I really thought what held it back was the villain at his story being so abstract until the end but the feelings of those around the hero and The supporting cast really propped up the story very well and they could have Dove a little bit into the enemies mindset as well.

Emma Gregory absolutely stole the show as much as the story itself.
