The tower is fallen, its residents scattered or dead. A mob of human refugees swarm the city, tossed into a world they haven't seen in years and one Jana knows only from distant memories as a child. The ones who tore down her home would have her flee to safety and abandon her need to find Rhamiel and know what became of him. But the strike against the angels has returned them to their martial ways, and an army is reforming under the banner of Uzziel with the goal of eliminating any threats to the Seraphim forever. And other castes of angels have agendas of their own, eager to fill the vacuum left by the tower's collapse.

this is a review for the trilogy. it is important i do so, because you need to be warned. the first book is interesting enough to feel it might be worth trying the rest of the trilogy (especially since it ends w/ a cliffhanger). book 2 is also just interesting enough to finish, & retains promise. although the narrator changed & is now someone completely laughable at times (NOT the right choice for 90% of the characters). but in the THIRD book, i swear to you that is seems like the author had ZERO ideas left, but his producer forced him to uphold the contract & demand a certain number of pages be written. the writing style & imagination are completely & infuriatingly different. it seriously should have been 1/3 the length, and even then the valid, non-redundant content was still a lame, wilted, uninspired train wreck. Plus you have to endure the horrible narrator. classic example of an author mad at his boss for making him finish something he absolutely despises having to be a part of. 2/3 of the last book is CEASELESSLY repeating the self-deprecating, guilt-ridden thoughts of each of 3-4 of the main characters. i was AMAZED (and nauseated) at how maaaaany different ways he was able to repeat the same annoying expression over & over & over & over & over, and then switch to a different character (walking along in the same scenario, no less) and repeat the same similar thoughts in the same redundant way. then when the characters eventually find themselves in a different situation a few chapters later, do it ALL OVER AGAIN! i could not believe what i was hearing! i was actually angry throughout most of this audio book (9 & a half hours!). what a waste of time, overall, and a huge slap in the face to the audience. i am upset that he is receiving royalties for this. SERIOUSLY, please don't start this trilogy. you will find yourself continuing to the third, wanting closure, but you will only walk away with outrage & regret!

WARNING!!! Final book will make you regrett!!!
