Deborah Heiligman's new biography of Charles Darwin is a thought-provoking account of the man behind evolutionary theory: how his personal life affected his work and vice versa. The end result is an engaging exploration of history, science, and religion for young listeners.©2008 Deborah Heiligman; (P)2008 Listening Library

Would you listen to Charles and Emma again? Why?
I found the train of thought fascinating as Darwin developed his ideas. Even more interesting was the love he and his Emma shared, though their philosophies differed so dramatically. What was one of the most memorable moments of Charles and Emma?
The death of their ten year old daughter, Annie was poignant and mystifying to me. That he did not visit her grave for so many years was puzzling, as he was the only parent in the vicinity when she died. What about Rosalyn Landor’s performance did you like?
She is able to convey characters with voices both believable and easy on the ears.If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Love across a chasm.Any additional comments?
