Spinster Emmagene Stitch doesn't believe in love...until she meets the worst earl in London.

Welcome to Book 2 in the new steamy historical romance series set in Victorian London by Kathleen Ayers.

There is no gentleman in all of London considered more rude, impolite, blunt, and just plain awful than the Earl of Huntly. Miss Emmagene Stitch, self-proclaimed spinster, is considered nearly as unpleasant with her sharp tongue and opinions.

The only thing Emmagene and Huntly can agree upon is their dislike of the house party they both find themselves attending. Forced into Huntly's company by their hostess, Emmagene finds herself attracted to the earl despite the deficits to his character. Their affair is as unexpected as it is passionate.

But will it survive their eventual return to London?

Contains mature themes.

Well written with wit and humour. Engaging plot and characters, carry this series but the Author is a standout. I’m disappointed that the next in the series is not available on audio….yet?

Delightful

The humor and wit really came through in this audio production. the print book was funny, but the narrator really brought it out. this book is a favorite of mine for sure!

unexpectedly funny

Two angry scared "skunks" 🦨🦨 defending themselves against the rejection, expectation, betrayal, & loneliness of the world 🌎. That these two find a safe harbor together was hugely satisfying. That they make each other better was heartfelt. How they got together was hilarious. Their wedding "shun" made me offended for them; but it was so funny. I know of at least two weddings where someone I know experienced what happened in this story. This romance was real-ish but better. Well done by author & narrator!

Loved this. Funny & Real-ish

Definitely for female readers who want to be bullied by a man.
I enjoy this author but this book fails to deliver

Non-stop sexual giant meets tiny spinster.

Chasing the Earl was disappointing. It wasn’t necessarily poorly written but it definitely felt like an 80s historical romance. I found myself being regularly thrown out of the suspension of disbelief. There was less plot than normal and it was a means to and end to get to a spicy scene. The scenes also felt incredibly tame. I think I have been reading booktok recommendations a bit too much lately. The spicy scenes felt very bland compared to the other books I have read.
I grabbed this book as part of stuff your earbuds and am leaving this review of my own volition.

It was ok
