Not her finest work.

This was a very very boring story with really no redeeming qualities. I have enjoyed several of her other works though. I finished this but I don't really know why. Nothing ever happened.

This is my first time reading this author.
I will definitely look for more books by her.
She really makes her characters come to life.
I felt like I was right there in their community of family and friends.

enjoyed the book and the narrator. Will read another book by this author as this is my first book by this author.

Mediocre at best

To start with the story was written to a more traditional set of values I dont share and that made it hard for me to relate to and engage with the story. None of the challenges felt like challenges and none of the triumphs felt like triumphs. In addition to this the put on accents for many of the supporting characters were poor, distracting and dropped fairly often.

An Easy Pleasant Listen

Lovely performance, easy to love characters, and a heart warming ending. Quite enjoyable as the Christmas and New Year approach!
