Lawless, British Columbia is on edge after a powerful earthquake jolts the region, quickly followed by a string of savage animal attacks. Newly stationed to the area after her predecessor mysteriously disappears, Conservation Officer Christine Moon needs to calm the jangled nerves of the small mountain town.

Awakened from ancient slumber, something stalks the swirling, grey mists that surround Lawless. A beast with a gnawing hunger that grows stronger by the minute - its only thought, to satisfy its ravenous appetite.

Rampant corruption at the highest level has targeted Christine to be the next mysterious disappearance. Now, she's in a fight for her life while trying to track and contain the creature threatening to decimate the local population.

I don't care if I had to keep converting measurements from metric, this was hands down one of the best creature features i have listened to in a long, long time. Katie Berry is definitely at the top of her game with this book. I can't wait for more installments.

One of The Best!!!

The book took a lot of elements that could have been cliche and approached them in a new and unique way. The first third of the book was a little slow moving. The author clearly has a fun and refreshing personality which really came through. I just wasn’t sure it fit the gruesome subject matter at times. Once the book got going it really got going though. I thought she did a great job of making it a little scary and terrifying. The antagonist was a real wow. Great job there. I also loved the thought behind the why of everything. Why we had this antagonist. Why decisions were made by characters. Overall fun read and I look forward to more by this author. The characters were a little stereotypical. Would love to see more depth to them in the next book but that did not overshadow the great parts of the book.

The story was really smart

Swearing and silly puns. Repetitive references to avalanches and eating. Juvenile punning, slang and food references. Also read too fast.

Too much swearing and God damning.

Luckily I didn’t see the other reviews for this book…I like to listen strictly entertaining books while I work and this series delivers…I don’t have to think about any deeper meaning only enjoy the listen the narrator is not the greatest but just tolerable

Fun and uncomplicated
