A Thriller, true story, and historic adventure all in one. Originally written in 1946, this Memoir was too dangerous to publish, and was hidden from the public by the CIA. It was discovered 80 years later, and in 2024, the Department of Defense finally approved its release.

It all started with America's first intelligence agency, the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), which was forged in the fires of WWII. OSS agents carried out daring and covert operations across the world, yet their critical contributions and brave work have remained shrouded in secrecy — until now.

In those secrets is the stunning true story of Steven Bizic and the men of SPIKE team. Join them as they descend into darkness, landing amidst the turmoil of a nation torn apart by civil war and years of Nazi occupation. Facing the looming threat from fascists and the insidious influence of communism, the men of SPIKE must navigate a treacherous landscape where trust is rare and betrayal lurks around every corner. Originally penned at the end of WWII, this groundbreaking tell-all has only been recently discovered, shedding incredible light on the creation of the CIA and U.S. Army Special Forces, the chaos of WWII, and the people trapped in between.

"CODE NAME: SPIKE is... a trove of knowledge, inspiration, and wisdom... relevant in ways few such stories can be... it offers warriors, strategists, and policymakers alike a glimpse into what the dynamics of irregular warfare are, and more importantly, what they are not."- Lieutenant General (Retired) Charles Cleveland Commanding General U.S. Army Special Operations Command, 2012-2015

"Captivating!... and rediscovered by a Special Forces Green Beret."- Charles Pinck, President of The OSS Society

What a great listen. It’s an amazing story about courage and relationships between allies and enemy. Author did a great job of pulling all of the story lines together.

Amazing “uncovered” story that is able to teach lesson from WW2 to those we see today. I would sit in my car and listen to the end of chapter because of how well the story was written. Overall a fantastic book.

The story reads (listens?) much like Hemingway's "For Whom the Bell Tolls". Given that THIS is a true story, it may be as much of a compliment to Hemingway, as it is to this author - whom, by the way, has an even MORE interesting background than Papa himself. Came upon Jacek's story on the Urban Valor podcast, which included the background of how this book came to be. I immediately went and downloaded the book on Audible, and have been listening nearly non stop since. Captivating story. Nice work, Chief.

I enjoyed the story. There are some audio glitches, but I especially enjoy stories narrated by the author. I listened to a podcast by the author, who promoted his book series.

Great story
