There are a wealth of conspiracies surrounding World War II, from covert assassinations to outlandish secret missions and shocking cover-ups. Intelligence agencies practiced stunning deceptions and disinformation was spread widely, but what truths lie beneath these elaborate theories? Military historian Alexander Macdonald examines the evidence.

In this fascinating book, you will learn whether:

  • The Nazis really set up a secret base in Antarctica
  • Franklin D. Roosevelt allowed Pearl Harbor to be bombed so that America could be drawn into the war
  • A secret plot by US intelligence led to the assassination of top general George Patton
  • Adolf Hitler really faked his own death and escaped from the bunker in 1945

This book is a gripping analysis of conspiracies surrounding the Second World War.

'Pleasurable intrigue' might be the best way I can describe my feeling while listening to this book. It varies its subject from overlaying ingenious plots, to revealing deception tactics, down to entertaining a plethora of conspiracy theories for the fun of it!

Instead of brute force, the reader learns how wars are won by subtlety. Behind all the blunt military maneuvers and strategic preparations there are hidden schemes and cunningly laid plans that actually make field work applicable. Warfare becomes a matter of who outsmarts the other... but that's not all what this book is about. There is more!

One last word I'd like to spare about the exquisite narration this book has received. This turned me into a fan of Eric Meyers, and I would love to listen to him narrate again.
