Cora faces death, abandonment, bullying, family struggles, attempted rape, loss of a child, and finally, redemption.

Cora’s Story follows the adventurous life of Cora Crawford. Born in the early 1900s and raised on a small mountain in rural Eastern Tennessee, Cora shares the tale of her young life with the listener. This historical, inspirational coming-of-age fiction will entertain and encourage as Cora finds her way to a life filled with God’s grace.

An excerpt of Cora’s Story:

I listened as the family talked as they settled down for the night. I still lay on the bed, too frightened to relax and go to sleep. Just before dawn, I finally dozed.

The small table was not any match for his shove, and the door was opened before I could move. He was on top of me before I was fully awake. When he put his hand over my mouth, I bit him and pushed him to the floor. I had been sleeping with the butcher knife at my side, so I grabbed it as I stood up.

What a blessing this story can give the sinner or the saved. Cora made mistakes as well as we all do, but God is a loving God and is faithful to forgive us our sins. This was uplifting. The narrator did a great job and I especially enjoyed her singing the songs.

Great story!

I loved this book. Such tragedies and blessings throughout Cora’s life. I questioned as to whether this story was actually based on a true story as it could have been. Narration was great. Definitely look forward to more from this author.

Very Heartwarming

Interesting topic and journey, Cora’s Story was to listen to. Cora accepts her life on the mountain. This is all she knew, even though she was sent away to school and was bullied and attacked. All she wanted was to go home to the mountain and be safe. She finally has a husband and life goes on. Even life has its tough moments, but Cora is happy with her life and family.
I was given a copy of this book by the author for an honest review.

I found this story to be quite compelling. There are tragic times, but also really great times. Of course, God is woven between everything. I thought do think that the narrator did a good job with the story.

a lovely tragic but uplifting story

I'd consider this more of an autobiography than a novel. However,I really enjoyed listening. Cora's life was challenging and because of circumstances beyond her control, a brave Little girl developed into a strong woman.

She was raised by her grandparents, people of faith. Life on the mountain was hard, but it developed strong people, not just physically but of faith and character as well.

I love the experience she had with the Lord, that experience is still alive and real today, I've experienced it myself.

The narrator did a wonderful job on this book.

Very good
