Calmer and Creative

It continues to surprise me how creative the author is. To be able to find new intrigue and developments to narrate. And do so well. There are so many characters. Some of them don’t appear sometimes but when I once thought the author had forgotten about some of them, they popped back in not long after. What a crazy world. Lots of plot progression but no especially crazy event like in some of the other volumes. From cures, to couriers, to reunions, and innovations, a lot happens. I think I’ve finally gotten used to the new narrator though some voices do still sound odd sometimes. But she’s doing great! As usual, excited to see what will come next!

The characters have become my friends!

Thank you for bringing this book to life! The writing in this series is phenomenal. It makes you feel like you’re quietly walking beside the characters, watching them confront their biases, secrets, and shame in real time. It’s raw, human, and honestly an honor to witness their growth. So well done.

It's like catching up with old friends

So much happens in this book - in every book! How the characters and story lines weave across each other and keep getting more and more interesting is really quire amazing. At first, in this series, I would get frustrated when a story line would switch because I was really into the current one. But then I'd get hooked into THAT story line and be sad when it switched away to the next! But each is just so good, I can't help but enjoy every one, and when they cross and a loose end is tied up, it's like a present! I know that sounds goofy, but this really is just wonderful to listen to. The creativity and the vibrancy of each character and their evolution through the stories is impressive. This latest book had me binge-listening to the point that if I woke up in the middle of the night, it was an excuse to dig in again! It was nice to start getting clarity on some aspects that had been hanging, as well.

Erin's audio recording prowess has stepped up. Listening was undisturbed by differences in audio interpretation of character nuance.

On the edge of my seat, AGAIN!

Pirateaba has an incredible way of bringing us to each character and storyline without getting us lost! Truly amazing and this book made me love the couriers even more! The way she’s able to connect each storyline to each other in this edition really feels like she’s heading towards a grand showdown. I can’t wait for the next book! Even though I can read the web releases, I do try to wait for The Audible. Both narrators throughout the series have been extremely talented!
