A Cowboys Don't story.

Cowboy Danny Boone - a name he made up one drunken night and has regretted ever since - harbors a big past and yearns for a small future. A short, bright career as a champion bull rider almost ended in his death when his homophobic father discovered Danny was gay. Now Danny longs for a plot of land he can build a ranch on, enough money to make up for some of the education he missed, and, secretly, a beautiful femme who likes to top - a combo rarer than a unicorn.

Then, onto the guest ranch where Danny works, drives San Francisco decorator Laurie Belmont, a young man so gorgeous he makes the horses gasp, and so ballsy he almost kills Danny's attacker. Laurie's trying to find his way out from under the thumb of a domineering mother, helpless father, and rich, privileged boyfriend. But no matter the attraction, their lives are worlds apart, and cowboys don't ride unicorns.

an amazing story and read

the narration is very relaxing and the voices between characters truly reveals the the depth of character development in the story

All of them. I really enjoy performances by K.C. Kelly!

I wish there was more of this series.

What other book might you compare Cowboys Don't Ride Unicorns to and why?

This author expertly brings characters who, by all appearances are opposites, and shows us how opposites not only attract but also are perfect pieces to make a whole that meets the needs of each.

What does K.C. Kelly bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

This actor is much more than a narrator.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I was entirely touched when the two main characters became entirely aware of their feelings.

Sweet

This was a very enjoyable book to listen to.
Tara Lain is one of my favorite story tellers and K.C. Kelly does a good job giving the story a voice.
There are a couple spots where you just want to smack Danny and Laurie's heads together so maybe they will get a clue. But this is a very good book with a lot of "aww", steam and humor.
You also get to follow the 2 MC's as they figure out what is really important in life and how to get it.
