Sibling Loss

I definitely like the storylines this author chooses to write. This isn’t a fluffy romance by any means. The very first pre-chapter brings you into a tragedy, and the talented writing of E. J. Noyes makes sure you’re witnessing and feeling it.
This novel deals with the loss of a sibling, an identical twin and as I have recently lost my two sisters unexpectedly, I felt this in the core of my being.
The MC Beth, is caught in the tornado of the loss of Andy, and her emotional roller coaster effects everyone close to her. She lashes out, while returning to her past coke habit, hoping that will ease her pain.
Fia is the firefighter who is on the scene of Andy’s demise, and she is a steadfast presence in Beth’s continuous grieving and recovery. Fia gives her support, and definitely her patience when dealing with Beth.
Of course there’s so much more character development that gives Beth, Fia and Andy their ‘realism’, but I don’t want to give up all spoilers. This book deserves to be read, listened to, and not just told through reviews.
Abby Crayden? Is there anything left to say about this incredible narrator? She gives every character their distinctive voice. I can’t imagine this book performed by anyone else.

Chapter zero was like watching a movie.

Author does an amazing job of storytelling as though I were right there experiencing the journey with Beth and Fia.

Beautiful writing and narration! What an emotional ride. Like an excellent multi course meal. Wow.

Captivating storyline that left me wanting more

Huge fan of EJs work, so I’m a little biased with my rating. The beginning segment of the book had me in my feelings, fell short on the relationship development between to 2 MC but maybe that wasn’t meant to be a larger focus (definitely wanted more there). As someone who has suffered from loss, this hit home.

Heavy but good

The story telling is amazing. It will suck you in and make you feel and see everything. It’s definitely on the heavier side with loss/grief. Fia is too perfect of a soul. It would be interesting to have another story from her perspective.
