Emperor Aithan has commanded his eight heirs to carry out the plans that the Alliance in Trinon has ordered, which means that they will marry into the varying realms in the Meridian. For his eldest daughter, Aniyah, her marriage to Prince Liam of Rhizena is a dream come true. Kieran, the heir to the throne of Trinon, is also quite taken with his bethrothed from Iconium. However, the remaining royal children face challenges as they look to their futures.

Eithan has recently returned from Stalker training and is not eager to begin his future with Adrielle from Yorinth. However, he knows that his secret commission in her realm will be vital to the future of the Meridian. Julianna continues to struggle to let go of Tristain, the love of her life, as she meets her future husband, King Magnum of Talkan. In addition to this, youngest Evangeline will be tested in new ways as she is forced to deal with her new life at home with Knox, Isaac, and Ellema.

Will the heirs do as they are bidden? What secrets will be revealed? What requistions will be given as the heirs look to their futures in the Meridian?

Book 2 immediately continues the Book 1 story line. All 8 royal siblings have been promised in marriage to other kingdoms in order to stop a brewing war. Only 2 find the arrangements favorable. Julianna and Tristain, childhood sweethearts, are particularly distraught as Tristain is sent off to be trained as a Stalker, well separated from "home." The family dynamics evolve and the world building continues to fill out. And, this book ends in a dramatic cliff-hanger. Looking forward to 3!
