Samuel Worth never meant to kill the man. But when the son of the plantation owner they worked for tried to attack Samuel’s daughter, he had to defend her. Now his whole family is on the run from a pack of slave hunters and their bloodhounds - straight into the deadly wilds of the Rocky Mountains. Nate King and his family value their freedoms. It is one of the reasons they chose to live so far from civilization. It’s also why Nate knows he and his wife, Winona, must use every trick at hand to help the Worth’s escape their captors - even if it costs them their own freedom.

This is another good book in this series. I have liked all of these books but this is my favorite one so far. This book focuses on slavery. Samuel has to kill one of the masters to protect his daughter. Then they go on the run. They run to the Rockies. They come across Nate and Winona. They get them to guide them. Nate figured out that they are run away slaves. But helps them anyway. There are slave catchers after them for the bounty. This is a great storyline and it kept me interested. Rusty Nelson does a great job narrating this book. If my review is any help will you please click on the helpful link below. Thank you.
