While doing research for her third book about Hollywood, Paige Cornish meets Avalon Randolph, a sexy and wild actress who takes her on a rollercoaster ride - right down the red carpet. Writing about Hollywood is one thing, but living it is quite another. Personalities clash and boundaries are crossed as they navigate their attraction for each other through the exhilarating but precarious world of money and fame.

Can Paige and Avalon reconcile their differences and find a happy middle ground in a town that never lives in the middle?

Editorial reviews

Paige Cornish, a best-selling writer, is working on an exciting new project: a book about Hollywood action movies. When her research leads her to Avalon Randolph, a gorgeous, witty, and reckless actress, sparks fly between the two wildly different women. A playful narration from film and voice actress Kim McKean brings a lively energy to this lesbian romance, highlighting each character's distinct personality against the backdrop of Hollywood glamor. Intelligent, captivating, and sexy, Cut to the Chase is a compelling tale of desire between two very charming leading ladies.

Not the best I've ever listened to, but not the worst either. It just had some spots that were a little slow.

okay

Where does Cut to the Chase rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Not the best but not the worst.

What did you like best about this story?

the store was well written and beyond a few roll my eye moments that seem to be in every book of this genre, i enjoyed the book.

What didn’t you like about Kim McKean’s performance?

I actually has to start this audiobook twice as I was put off by Ms McKean's breathy reading style. I zoned it out as the store continued and was able to focus on the story and not how it was read the second time i tried to listen. The distinction between main characters could have been better as there were points I was confused as to who was speaking

Any additional comments?

Overall I enjoyed the book the second time around.

Story Pulled you in

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

i always like listening to books on tape. better than watching t.v. as i can do other things. this particular book i found myself really not enjoying the reader, the voices just did not suit the characters.

How could the performance have been better?

all around i felt like i was simply listening to someone read. i didn't feel the beauty of the characters. not a lot of differences in the characters in voices. i would like to hear the story again but read by someone like abby craven. i think then i would know if i liked the story or not.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

no, maybe... i don't know. i would probably wait for it to come out on dvd

Any additional comments?

this is the first time i have felt compelled to review a book on audible.

my humble yet righteous opinion

Would you be willing to try another book from Lisa Girolami? Why or why not?

I would. I enjoyed the chemistry Lisa evoked between the book's love interest.

Would you be willing to try another one of Kim McKean’s performances?

The narration lessened my overall experience. Took a couple of weeks to finish listening.

Decent love story

I have no idea if this book is good or not. The narrator was so horrible that I couldn't even get through the 3rd chapter. If she can't even pronounce the word "hyperbole" correctly, then she should stick to preschool books.

Narrator ruined this!
