A hero is killed!

Fourteen-year-old Tyler Thompson has been in isolation for eight months to complete the last bit of his superhero training. Just as he is about to finish, his grandfather Ben and mentor Master Pat Tanaka urgently summon him to investigate an abnormality within the San Andreas Fault causing devastating earthquakes.

After successfully disabling the cause of the earthquakes, Tyler finds that he is being framed for the largest mass murder in American history and must now focus the powers of Metatron to clear his name. As new enemies and old foes unite against him, it takes every superpower Metatron can muster to hold them off and maintain peace and order. But when an unseen circumstance takes Metatron by surprise, he sacrifices his own life to save another and it is now up to his allies to bring him back from the grave, stop the sinister plans of these evil bands of villains, and quell their attempt to kill millions of other innocents.

Every superhero needs a nemesis, and it seems that Metatron’s is Dr. Payne. Captured in book 1, he now escapes and is on a collision course to stop Metatron with the help of a new foe that arrives on the scene. But when Tyler learns to unlock more of his powers, the action ramps up nicely. Good job with book 2.

Good job with book 2.

Although this is a superhero fantasy tale, this book was a great mix of both. A little heart-warming as well as Tyler continues to tiptoe back and forth between his identity as Metatron and his regular teenage life.

The Black Shadow arrives on the scene just in time to kick up the action beyond the first novel and that’s a good thing as Metatron must once again show his talent for fighting the criminal elements. Hopper Stone does another great job of reading and I’m impressed at how well he molded to e the characters. Highly recommended.

Metatron 2 has all the elements of a good sequel, with double the enemies and triple the powers of the hero. I enjoyed the progression of Tyler as he evolves in his role of Metatron and I can’t wait to see how book 3 turns out. Good listen.

Well Written Story

Tyler’s grandfather is being held at Area-51 and now he must find a way to release him if he is to better understand his powers in time to stop the evil Dr. Payne and his new ally, Black Shadow. Hopper Stone is very good at voice over and I was relieved to see him return in book 2.
