I have read all of Brene Brown's books that she has written up to this date. This one is by far the best. I have found myself thinking all of her books are the same they are the same stories, but the way she examples a lot of her research in this books is even better.

After spending my college years studying learning and emotional disabilities, Brenes work makes me want to go back to school and study shame and vulnerability.

I would suggest this book to any and everyone! This book makes you understand that not only what you do effects you but those you love and care about.

Thanks to Ms Brown, I have cried more in the last six months than I have in the previous 30 years. And that is a wonderful outcome because that is partly how I processed so much of my pain, grief and shame. This book follows the same arc as her previous books but, I believe, with more clarity and refinement. She describes and illustrates the key elements of what she calls wholeheartedness, which I think I might also call emotional competence. Her body of work is nothing short of life-changing, and this book is a fitting capstone.
