I bought books 2 and 3 on sale to find out who the killer is. It was a very good sale. I would have been upset if I paid a credit or regular price.
Possible Spoilers:
Sam Jakes comes home to help his brother Trey find out who murdered their mother. Yes, he makes up with Lainey Pickett, the girl he left behind. Sam and Trey are able to chip away at clues with the help of Betsy Jakes’ diary and Lainey’s mom’s diary and photos. They find there was a cheating scandal. All class members are accounted for except one who disappeared. The accident 4 were driving back from an abandoned mine, an obvious body dump site. The Sheriff finds a body in the mine and Marcus Silver unravels when taken in for questioning. When the grandson of a bomb maker is murdered, it’s all hands on deck at the hospital to corner the current murderer and attempted bomber. But Trina survives to id him.
Alvamar is ok as narrator.

Compelling.

A very moving and great experience.
As usual Sharon Sala does not fail to deliver. Her portrayal of some aspect of PTSD was spot on.
A great love story made all the more endearing as the second chance of love also unfold.

Another AWESOME book by Sharon Sala!

This book has 2 plots - #1 is the ongoing plot from books 1 and 2 - who killed 3 friends from the graduation class of 1980 and why. #2- the story of Sam Jakes and Lainey Pickett

Plot 1- Besty Jakes and 4 of her friends saw something the night of their graduation. On their way to report it, they had a car accident which killed the driver. The survivors were all injured and had lost their memories of that night. In the previous books Betsy's memories start to come back as the 2 other survivors of the accident were murdered. This book starts out with Betsy's murder. This story had so many twists and turns, it kept me on the edge of my seat! The murderer is revealed and I admit it surprised me who it was. I won't say more as I don't want to give anything away.
Plot 2 - Sam Jakes has been estranged from his family (His choice) for the past 10 years ever since he came home wounded from war. When he finds out about his mother's murder he decides to come home and help his brother find out who murdered her and why. Both Sam and Lainey are dealing with things that happened in their lives (Sam- war injuries, Lainey - recovering from breast cancer treatment). Their story is an emotional one and shows that love can conquer all.
