Dead Man's Chest, written as a sequel to Treasure Island, begins with Long John Silver's escape from the merchantman ship Hispaniola at Puerta Plata and culminates with the American Revolution more than a decade later. It describes in rich detail the unholy alliance between this softhearted cutthroat, his teenage nephew, David Noble, and Captain John Paul Jones. Together, they work to retrieve a king's ransom of Spanish gold and jewels from a dead man's chest.©2001 Roger L. Johnson (P)2002 Blackstone Audiobooks Action & Adventure

Critic reviews

"Roger Cosham demonstrates his narrative versatility with deft changes of tone and inflection, and pacing that keeps the lengthy book from becoming tedious. Fans of naval stories should love Johnson's book, which honors Stevenson's classic." (AudioFile)

I have loved " Treasure Island " since I was a boy a just had to listen to this . While I would have like to had more of Old Long John Silver more prominent in the story it is still a delightful story to set your sail by for a high seas adventure.

Truly Delightful

Supposed to be related to Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure island. Perhaps. I think it is better, than Treasure Island.
More of a fictional account of young John Paul Jones, before he became famous, than anything else.
Left me wanting to hear the rest of the story.

Pirate Tale
