Discover the BRAND NEW chilling psychological thriller from the INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLING author of The House Sitter, Keri Beevis. Perfect for fans of Freida McFadden, Claire McGowan and Lisa Jewell!

A sister looking for answers.
A brother with secrets to hide...

Three days before Christmas, I travel to Midwinter Manor in Norfolk through a worsening snowstorm to meet Daniel, the brother I never knew existed. He has reluctantly granted me an hour of his precious time.

The welcome I receive is frosty. Daniel is cold, intimidating and unfriendly, while his wife, Rose, is polite, but tense. From the moment I step through the door of this imposing manor house, I sense I’m not welcome.

When I go to leave, the snowy blizzard prevents me. Then there’s a power cut and I can’t let anyone know where I am. I realise I am trapped.

Something feels wrong in this house. The way Daniel and Rose speak in whispers behind closed doors suggests something’s amiss. As cracks start to form in their stories, I wonder what it is they are hiding.

Midwinter Manor is a house full of secrets, and some of them are dangerously deadly.

The thrilling new listen for fans of Freida McFadden, Claire McGowan and Lisa Jewell.

Such a fantastic story! Couldn't stop listening! I was riveted the entire time. No, I didn't intend to loose a whole night of sleep, but I didn't want to wait to find out what was going to happen to the characters. Also, I'm such a sucker for a murder in an English manor during a snowstorm! Very good character development. Easy to follow. The story flowed really well. I felt like I was in the main character's shoes so my stomach was clenched much of the time. I've only taken off a star for performance because I'm not a fan of Imogen Church's voice and the way in which she reads. Sometimes her voice sounds really soft and feminine, then within the same sentence, it gets really sharp and harsh. I also don't love her "male" voices. It's only a personal preference, and clearly it wasn't enough to stop me from loosing a night of sleep! Dead of Winter was worth the credit I paid for it!

Loved this listen. It kept me hanging on. I kind of figured it out early on how it would go but still! There were some things that gave me all the appropriate feelings. Love this author!

I listen to several audio books, and have listened to MULTIPLE narrated by Imogen Church, and while she receives high praise, I just don’t enjoy her narration. Her tone is SO severe. I feel like I’m being scolded throughout the book. I’m constantly turning down my volume, but then I can’t hear it…it’s difficult to describe, but it’s as if I’m trying to tone HER down rather than the volume. For me, personally, I would’ve enjoyed this book much more with another narrator. Perhaps, if you’ve never listened to her before, just listen to an excerpt from one of her narrations and see if you like her. As I stated, she receives HIGH praise. But I’ve tried on multiple occasions, and this was my final straw. She is just not for me. If I want another book that she happens to be narrating, I will either read it myself, or skip it all together. She gives me a headache. 🤕
