Dear John: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience! * From the New York Times bestselling author of The Notebook, a soldier must face an impossible choice when a national tragedy threatens his relationship with the girl of his dreams. Now a motion picture starring Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried.

Rebellious John drops out of school and enlists in the Army, not knowing what else to do with his life–until he meets Savannah. Their mutual attraction quickly grows into the kind of love that leaves Savannah waiting for John to finish his tour of duty, and John wanting to settle down with the woman who captured his heart.

But 9/11 changes everything. John feels it is his duty to re-enlist. While he’s away, Savannah falls in love with someone else. Returning home, John must come to grips with the fact that Savannah, now married, is still his true love–and face the hardest decision of his life. *Booktrack is an immersive format that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music. The tempo and rhythm of the score are in perfect harmony with the action and characters throughout the audiobook. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration, so listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

Ok, I know the storyline is pretty sappy and I was ready for it. However, I was quite surprised at the emotion it pulled out of me. I can't really explain it other than it's one of Mr. Sparks best in my view. It can be criticized ... ok I get that but if you want to get pulled into an experience with two people both of whom you are pulling for ... man this it the book for you.

Also, I'd like to say that I have seen a lot of negative comments about the book track experience, and for those that don't like it ok. However, I really do like it and done well I think it adds to the overall experience.

A movie was made and after I read the book I watched the movie. The two actors were excellent in the movie however the book is much better than the movie - especially the last third.

If you are a fan of Nicholas Sparks ... you will love this one.
