A luxurious island. A mysterious invitation. A deadly secret

When amateur sleuth Charlotte "Charlie" Reed receives an invitation to a lavish weekend on a secluded island, she thinks it's the perfect opportunity to boost her fledgling detective agency. But when the enigmatic host turns up dead, it's clear this won't be the relaxing getaway anyone had in mind.

With the storm cutting off communication and all escape routes, Charlie must navigate a house full of eccentric guests—all with dark secrets of their own. As tensions rise and accusations fly, it becomes a race against time to uncover the murderer before they strike again.

Death by Invitation is a charming cozy mystery filled with intrigue, suspense, and unexpected twists. Perfect for fans of whodunits with a sprinkle of humor and a dash of danger.

Listen now and sleuth the clues today!

The story was good and had promise, but why would you have a male narrator for a female main character and primarily female cast?
Aside from that, I love all Nellie Steelle’s books!

Good story, narration off

The story was a fun twist on the strangers invited to a mysterious island trope. The main problem is the choice of narrator. This is a story where 90% of the characters are female, including the POV detective. Who made the ludicrous decision to enlist a male narrator? To be clear, the narrator is talented and I’d enjoy listening to him perform a more appropriate mystery story for his voice. But this particular story was a mismatch with the voice.

Great Story - Why was it narrated by a man?

I question why the book was read by a man, since all but one character was a woman. I found it distracting. The dialogue appeared silly, especially that spoken by Charly who didn’t sound like a competent detective.

The story had some promise

Was just a quick story with basic ending. Could have used a twist or two.

Narration was decent.
