The Heritage Hall book fair was my chance to showcase my bookbinding techniques.
Instead, I become the main suspect in a murder.

Paper flowers and leather bindings filled my Heritage Hall book fair booth.
This was my chance to showcase traditional bookbinding techniques.

Instead, I found a dead authenticator in my space.

Mark Henderson, known for exposing forgeries, lay sprawled among tools stolen from my exhibit.
Making me the prime suspect.

Book preservation is my passion - being a murder suspect, not so much.
I teamed up with Fitzgerald, my Maine Coon cat and journalist Jennifer Walsh to clear my name.

Henderson and Victoria Graves were known enemies over authentication techniques.
But they had patched things up. Or had they?

Marcus Blackwood's traditional authentication methods were about to be overturned by Henderson's innovative research.

Now someone's mimicking my bookbinding techniques, leaving threatening clues that prove they're watching my every move.

I must decode these cryptic messages hidden in historical bindings before the final chapter closes... sealing the fate for me and my kitty.

Clean mystery, relaxing listen

The premise was interesting. I love Fitzgerald. The narration was very even. There story would have been more interesting with real human narration involving human inflection. And can’t virtual voice learn to pronounce “latte”? Some of the errors in inflection and pauses were distracting from the story.

struggle to enjoy

Lots of descriptions, Little character development, characters were flat and not well rounded. seemed boring and I normally would love this subject

Voice was hard to listen too

Cadence of ai voice sounded like an ai voice. I stopped listening because it didn’t hold me with enough inflections. Story was too repetitive and I lost interest in that too.

Glad they caught the killer.

Disappointing. The AI voice wasn’t the worst I’ve heard but it definitely detracts from the story which is somewhat repetitive. It was difficult to know which character was talking since they all sounded the same. Some of the words were mispronounced and the cadence was off.

Boring

Boring story and boring automated voice. I made it in about 20 minutes before I gave up. I was overwhelmed by the descriptions of everything and a voice that lacked pacing and energy and personality. The main character was the same as her cat and the other characters. I won’t get another automated voice book.
