Jason has a gift for writing—and his talent has its rewards. His first letter results in free meals at a fast-food chain. Another yields passes to an amusement park. As he goes through life, writing letters makes things go his way—opening doors to colleges, connecting him with the President— and Jason feels the might of his own power.

But there's a dark side to his machinations—and someone knows it. Threatening letters in the mail fuel his nightmares...until opportunity knocks and a company hires Jason to write for them. But this "dream job" is about to consume his mind and reach for his very soul.

I have read some of other readers reviews and don’t understand. I loved the book. All of the hours. I would come home and I had to stay in the car and continue to finish a chapter.

Great book

I have become a fan of Bentley Little and have been acquiring his books little by little... this one was very different. I found it suspenseful and a few times I actually exclaimed aloud from being shocked or angry... I believe it's worth a listen... even gave reference to another of his books, The Store, which I highly recommend.

This narrator is my favorite kind. I love narratives like this, especially when the main character is telling the story. The narrator made me feel like he was talking directly to me ♡

Narration is TOP TIER

I’ve read quite a few Bentley Littles books after discovering him not long ago and they don’t disappoint. This one didn’t either. I’m not even a horror book fan preferring mostly to stick with light hearted or humor books when I can find ones that peak my interested however his books are just enough creepy, smutty, suspenseful and not over the top gory that keeps me coming back. Also the narrator for this book was awesome. If there was a book made just for him to read it was this one.

Loved

From beginning to end this story was relentless and tragic as it showed the truth about ourselves. A story that was not afraid to throw its protagonist through a morally anemic odyssey, but still made you root for him and sympathize with his dilemmas… an extremely solid read.

Engrossing to the very end.
