Divorce Interrupted is a short story/novella about Lisa and Todd, a couple who after finalizing their divorce mistakenly end up at their lake cottage on the same weekend to clean it out and get it ready for sale. As they realize that their children set this up a raging storm approaches, causing flooding. As Lisa and Todd escape the flood waters they talk about why their marriage ended after 20 years.

Ms. James has created a story about 2 people who loved each other, suffered betrayal and then due to circumstances beyond their control are forced to work together to survive. I felt that the story was solid and l look forward to reading more in the Lake Willowbee Series.

Ms. Doyle brought Lisa and Todd to life with her attention to pacing, detail and emotion. Her narration drew you into the story even more.

I would recommend this to listeners 18+ years old and up as it has some hot sex scenes.

Interesting

This was an unexpected listen. It had some good scenes. I was very happy that they were able to put the past behind them and forgive each other under the circumstances. They were able to communicate their feelings which is always best. Luckily they were stranded in the house together. A marriage revived. I found it a bit missionary and would have liked to hear more kink. Naughtier.
I think Tobi is a good voice actor. I don't generally listen to these types of books but if there were more voice inflections in the right places it may have been more interesting.

Now, I like my sexy time while listening to a quickie...but c'mon! This was just boring... pass!

The divorce is ultimately because of Lisa being unfaithful. Todd assumes the absolute worst of the years they have been together and will not discuss any of his fears with her. This story takes place after they are divorced and are forced into a situation together, alone. Stories of cheaters are never anyone's favorites, but this is a good example of why we should talk to our loved ones before little things become insurmountable.
