He was convinced that soulmates, true love, and forever were just fairy tales. Then he met her.

Amelia McCall has her sights set on her dream job, but it seems like fate is determined to ruin her chances. After a difficult day and a confrontation at the grocery store, she finds herself in an argument with the person responsible and is required to leave. When things can't get any worse, she ends up in the emergency room after a biking accident, only to discover that the man she argued with is actually her doctor. He's bossy. He's stubborn. He's controlling. He drives her insane. And he also manages to make her heart race.

Dr. Kent Johns is someone who enjoys being in control. Whether it's in the fast-paced emergency department, at home, or even in the bedroom, he always gets his way and never backs down. That is until he meets Amelia McColl and she throws a wrench into his perfectly organized life. She was meant to be his last-minute date for his sister's wedding, but Kent quickly finds himself wanting more from her than just a one-night stand. Before he knows it, he is falling deeply for her.

Doctor Bossy is the second book in the Mercy Medical Emergency series. All books can be enjoyed as standalones.

I liked this second book in the series but there were inconsistencies from the first (eg, when did griffin go from an ER doc (it’s own specialty) to a surgeon?). This surprised me since most authors keep a bible to avoid this. This may sound picky but most people in the field don’t use the term “addict” but rather someone who is battling addiction. The male narrator was fine. The female narrator’s accents were a disaster. At one point, her female English accent sounded Asian. It was bizarre and distracting. Switched to the kindle at times. All that said, the book was still enjoyable enough. Not nearly as good as the first one

Story good narration not so much

I like the stories of this series, and the male narrator. However, I’m not a fan of the female narrator in the series. Her voice is whiny, no matter what she’s narrating, so makes it difficult to listen to. If I had time I would probably really enjoy reading them vs audiobook
