To follow any kind of leader is an intrinsically fascist concept—introduced to us by religions and conditioning. People want to be free, yet they are looking for a leader to provide that freedom, keeping themselves bound in a subtle slavery.

Osho encourages us to have the guts to create our own path. To walk it and create it at the same time. This talk is a deep analysis of the human mind, its conditioning and the understanding needed to be free from the obstacles preventing its freedom.

The world is filled with followers; be your own leader.

Osho defined it as the difference between a rose and a lotus. If either tried to be the other it would be a fruitless endeavor: a lotus grows in the water and a rose grows in soil outside of the water. Both are beautiful and unique, one is not better than the other. Humanity is obsessed with comparison and trying to fit into a mold but each soul is completely unique. Leaders say follow me but true leadership is about showing others their true selves and encouraging them to embrace their own path. Religion and government has a vested interest in having as many followers as possible, leaders are naturally rebellious and thus cannot be controlled. The more truth, love and joy you give the more you possess and this is true leadership. A leader is indebted to you and seeks to give you more but leadership in the modern world has been inverted.
