In his new book, Don't Let Nobody Turn You Around, AND Campaign cofounder and president Justin Giboney explores a compelling vision of how the Black Church's social action tradition can inspire hope and healing in the face of today's polarized culture wars. The spirituals of the Black church, such as "Don't Let Nobody Turn You Around," were rallying cries during the Civil Rights movement, making clear the connection between faith and justice during marches and protests. These songs encapsulated the unwavering faith and resilience of the Black church, propelling ongoing advocacy for justice in the public square.

Centered on faith, justice, and moral imagination, Don’t Let Nobody Turn You Around offers a blueprint for public witness that rises above division without compromising Christian values. Giboney thoughtfully examines the principles, motives, and accomplishments of the Black Church's legacy, calling all Christians to a courageous and faithful engagement in the public square.

In this book, you will discover the Black Church’s rich history of pairing orthodoxy and orthopraxy in its public witness; learn how this history can transform today's polarized politics; and explore how to value both social justice and moral order for a faithful Christian witness.

Loved this book. A must read for Christians today who are trying to navigate living in a polarized country. This book is full of grace and self reflection for all. I think Justin is brilliant and spirit filled. Thank you such a balanced book on both political viewpoints.

A very thought provoking book which hopefully leads all who read it to self reflection. I so appreciated reading of the inspiring example the author’s grandparents and their generation set in responding to and working against racism and oppression. In our polarized political landscape, I pray more would have their mindset today of realizing one’s own shortcomings, loving even enemies as Christ did, and see all people as redeemable. And no matter how bad things are, to know that change is possible, because Christ is on the throne.

A much needed book for this time

Remarkable in its scope, detail and winsomeness.

Justin’s reading is truly icing on the cake of an amazing work.

This history of amazing people is instructive, inspiring and (gently) rebuking. This narrative brings men and women of days gone by back to three dimensional life so we can profit from their courageous journey, and seek to be more like them.

Very hopeful these ideas simmer in many hearts all across the political spectrum; so help us God.

Thank you, Justin!
