Coming in the wake of Fin Gall, Dubh-Linn continues the story of Thorgrim Night Wolf and his band of Viking warriors as they plunder the Irish coast.

Eager to return to his native Norway, Thorgrim agrees to participate in one last raid under the command of a man he does not trust. But the Northmen, he finds, are no longer simply invaders on foreign soil. They have become a part of the Irish kings' ongoing struggle for power, and, far from securing a means to return home, Thorgrim and his men are plunged into a battle for the throne of Tara - a battle that will test their strength and loyalty as none has before.

The first book was great too. It took a while to get into the narrator's style but I hung in there for the story. I'm going to Ireland soon and look forward to seeing Dubh-Linn

Great Fun

Every bit as good as the Saxon Series and similar time period and set in Ireland. This is the second in the series. I read the first, Fin Gall, enjoying it completely, and listened to this one, well performed version. Now, on to the next book of the series.

As good as Bernard Cornwell

it's ok.. I listened to the first book. The Narrator being the same.. I was kind of hoping for a different narrator.. at least once I heard the same sentence, said twice. and it wasn't a sentence that even needed repeating... The way he says Night Wolf's son's name. grrr! just say Harold.. it seems like it's being said as if a spear had pierced him at the moment he gets half way through the name.. HarALD!. Also a few times he seems to drop the more feminine tone he uses for the female characters.. as if he didn't know that sentence was being said by the female character and says the female's sentence in the more male voice, which can be confusing..
The story could also be better.. a lot of the story simply feels like.. filler. It feels like a bad flashback.. to hear the same thing said again but slightly different.. even if it is from the opposing character point of view. kinda like how this book begins.. like a bad flashback to the first book.
but these are just my opinions.. and we all know what opinions are like... and yes... we all have them.

Could have been better
